1. What do you know about the way our courts, or judicial system, works?

2. If the outcome of a court case is unfavorable to one side, they can often appeal this decision. This means they can ask a higher court to look at their case to make another ruling. Do you think this is fair? Why or why not?

3. What is your point of view about Supreme Court justices being able to serve on the court for their lives? Would you change this? Why or why not?

TEACH

Students will be able to analyze a landmark Supreme Court case in the United States by researching a case description and create a “legal brief” to share their findings.
